Mr. Miettinen concentrates his practice in the areas of mergers, acquisitions and divestitures (domestic and international), corporate, partnership law, real estate, health care, business law, commercial law, contracts and finance law.
He has served as lead counsel in negotiating and documenting hundreds of business transactions in numerous industries throughout the world. He has extensive experience in drafting and negotiating all types of business contracts. Mr. Miettinen has also served as an interim general counsel for clients, and in such capacity has advised members of management on all aspects of corporate, business, commercial, contract, finance, employment and real estate matters. He has significant experience in representing various health care providers and advising them on health care and business law issues.
Mr. Miettinen received a B.A., with high distinction, in 1981 from Wayne State University (Majoring in Economics) and was a member of the Phi Beta Kappa Honors Society. Mr. Miettinen earned a J.D., magna cum laude, in 1985 from Wayne State University Law School and was a member of the Order of the Coif. He was also a Senior Associate Editor for the Wayne Law Review from 1983 to 1984.
Mr. Miettinen was admitted to the State Bar of Michigan in 1985 and is a member of its sections on Business Law, Real Property Law and Health Care Law. He is also a member of the American Bar Association and its sections on Business Law and Health Law. Mr. Miettinen serves his community by, among other things, serving on the Board of Directors of the Interfaith Volunteer Caregivers.
