Chemistry and Chemical Engineering

The chemical sciences are intricate and diverse arts, which are constantly evolving and growing in both depth and complexity. With such evolution and growth come new and exciting opportunities for development and protection of valuable intellectual property assets. Howard & Howard’s chemical team is ready to protect these assets for you.

How We Can Help

Our chemical team is prepared to counsel and assist clients in a variety of ways, such as by preparing and prosecuting chemical patent applications and defending and enforcing chemical patents in both national and international arenas. Further, we are highly skilled in both searching for and analyzing relevant prior art in the chemical field. These skills allow us to assist and counsel clients on patentability of their chemical inventions, to properly develop chemical patent applications, to determine validity of chemical patents, and to resolve any possible patent infringement concerns. We are also experienced in preparing and publishing complex technical disclosures, which are beneficial for both establishing defensive prior art and for dedication of inventions to the public, especially in the chemical arts.

Why We Can Help

Our chemical team has strong, well-rounded, and diverse educational and real world experience. All of our team members have degrees in chemical engineering, chemistry, or biology. Furthermore, we have all been involved with our own Intellectual Property Intern Program which provides hands-on experience while attending law school and allows us to hit the ground running relative to others in the field.
