Mr. English specializes in helping clients bring their innovative products to market.
His clients range from start-ups to Fortune 500 companies. Mr. English's practice has a particular emphasis in mechanical, electro-mechanical and medical device technologies. He has worked with numerous technologies including, but not limited to, EEG monitors, radio frequency ablation devices, bone cements, drug delivery devices, surgical instrumentation, kinetic spray coatings, electronic pedal assemblies, automotive shifters, foodstuffs, LP gas systems, building products, and business methods. His work includes filing patent applications, conducting prior art investigations, assisting clients with design-around efforts, licensing, patent reexamination and patent litigation. He helps his clients protect and commercialize inventions in the United States and abroad.
Mr. English received a B.S. in Civil Engineering in 1996 and a M.S. in Environmental Engineering in 1997, both from Michigan State University. Prior to entering the legal field, he was a consulting engineer at Triad Engineering and at Lawson-Fisher Associates, both in South Bend, Indiana.
Mr. English was a full-time intern in Howard & Howard's intellectual property law internship program from July 2000 to May of 2004. He received his J.D., magna cum laude, from Michigan State University College of Law in May 2004. He is licensed to practice in the State of Michigan and before the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
