![]() Mr. Seneca has worked primarily in the areas of corporate law, commercial litigation, landlord/tenant lease issues, creditor rights and toxic torts. He began his career by representing companies ranging from small distributors and manufacturers to large national corporations in the defense of toxic tort claims, including asbestos and benzene, arising from environmental, workplace, premises and occupational exposure from pleading to pre-trial. He has actively defended clients in asbestos litigation all over Illinois. Defendants he has represented include insulation manufacturers, brake and friction material manufacturers, gasket manufacturers, distributors, premises owners and contractors. Mr. Seneca has also represented numerous smaller companies in asbestos litigation, specializing in client needs, case reporting, analyzing and presenting settlement recommendations. Mr. Seneca has deposed many of the local and nationally known plaintiffs' experts, treating physicians, industrial hygienists, pathologists, radiologists and witnesses. He has developed defense strategy and case analysis. Mr. Seneca has first and second chaired trials, injunctions, mediations and several appeals. He was responsible for dismissing a recent federal class action and involved in resolving two national first-party state class actions against one of the nation's largest insurers. He has conducted massive discovery and pleadings in complex litigation in large multi-state class actions. He has also been involved in resolving product liability class action suits against global companies based in Illinois. While a portion of Mr. Seneca's experience has been in toxic tort cases, his recent emphasis has been representation of creditors and financial institutions in bankruptcy, workouts and breach of fiduciary duty cases all over the state. In addition, he has assisted in the formation and general representation of business entities. He also represents large and small businesses and franchisees in lease and landlord/tenant disputes. Mr. Seneca received a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Southern Illinois University in 1997, where he was on the Dean's List as a member of Beta Alpha Psi. He became a Certified Public Accountant in 1998 and received his Juris Doctor from Southern Illinois University School of Law in 2000. In law school, he was a Casenote/Comment Editor of the Southern Illinois Law Journal, a recipient of the CALI Award (Federal Business Taxation award) and a member of Phi Delta Phi. Mr. Seneca is admitted to practice in Illinois and the U.S. Federal District Courts for the Northern and Central Districts of Illinois. He is a member of the American Bar, Illinois State Bar and Peoria County Bar Associations as well as the Illinois Certified Public Accountants.
