Mr. Wise devotes a major portion of his practice to corporate, commercial and real estate matters, with particular emphasis on business mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, corporate counseling, contract negotiations and drafting and financing including asset-based lines of credit, unsecured lines of credit and real estate financing.  He also represents non-U.S. firms and joint ventures doing business in the U.S. and U.S. firms in their foreign commercial transactions and acquisitions.

Representative clients of Mr. Wise have included several public companies including a high tech dental laser manufacturer, the Detroit Red Wings in their negotiations of a sixty (60) year lease of the Joe Louis and Cobo Arenas in downtown Detroit, the sale of the Detroit Red Wings to its current owners, the purchase of the Detroit Tigers and currently do include, among other clients, the representation of a group of companies publishing 70 plus weekly newspapers in Michigan and Ohio and 30 plus independent telephone directories, a manufacturer of IRL engines and other auto and boat racing engines, a manufacturer of specialized parts for the oil, airframe and gun manufacturing industries, a high speed tool steel warehouse, a substantial private fiduciary, an architectural firm specializing in the design and development of shopping malls, primarily in the U.S. but also in England, Brazil and Dubai and a specialty hospital in Brighton, Michigan.

Mr. Wise is fluent in German and has substantial experience in international commercial transactions.  In 1964, he became assistant to the President of the International Economic Policy Association in Washington, D.C.  This private, non-profit association had a membership of over 20 major national and multi-national corporations working to influence United States foreign economic policy.  He is currently Chairman of the Board of Brighton Hospital, the oldest hospital in the Midwest treating the chemically addicted and a Trustee of Providence Hospital and Medical Centers.

Mr. Wise received his Bachelor of Arts Honors degree, cum laude, from Holy Cross College in 1959.  He spent his junior year studying European history at the University of Vienna in Austria.  He attended the University of Michigan Law School, where he earned his Juris Doctor in 1962 and received a Ford Foundation grant to study German law at the University of Munich Law Faculty in Munich, West Germany, for the academic year 1962-63.  Mr. Wise is a member of the State Bar of Michigan, the District of Columbia Bar, the International Bar Association and the American Bar Association.
