Mr. Louisell concentrates his practice in the automotive manufacturing sector and independent automotive sales and engineering firms, providing general counsel and advice with respect to corporate/commercial needs, governmental affairs and international trade.  In addition, Mr. Louisell is a commercial litigator pursuing as well as defending commercial claims primarily in the automotive sector.  His experience extends as well to dispute resolution as a certified mediator in the State of Michigan as well as his extensive experience with Arbitration both in the U.S. and in Europe  

Mr. Louisell has been representing and advising automotive suppliers and their sales and engineering representatives since his departure as a White House Appointee with the Reagan Administration in 1983.  These activities have resulted in the establishment of European automotive suppliers locating in North American ultimately manufacturing and selling product to U.S. and non-U.S. OEMs and Tier I suppliers.  As a partner with Howard & Howard, the depth of his automotive manufacturing experience coupled with the necessary specialty practices offered by Howard & Howard, allows for seamless, effective and efficient integration for non-U.S. automotive manufacturers to ship their product or locate manufacturing facilities to penetrate the North American automotive market. 

Mr. Louisell received a Bachelor of Arts in 1971 from Wayne State University and a Juris Doctor from the Detroit College of Law in 1974.  He was admitted to the State Bar of Michigan and the U.S. District Court, Eastern District of Michigan, in 1975.  He was also admitted to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit in 1977 and the U.S. District Court, District of Pennsylvania, in 1992. 

Mr. Louisell is a member of the Detroit and American Bar Associations.  He is also an investigator of the Grievance Commission for the State Bar of Michigan and a member of the Michigan Trial Lawyers Association.
