Ms. Karana is a transactional attorney specializing in the areas of securities, mergers and acquisitions and general business and corporate matters.  She has extensive experience in structuring and negotiating acquisitions and dispositions of businesses and real estate, organizing and structuring new business ventures, and securities regulation matters for publicly and privately held companies.

Ms. Karana previously served as an intern with the Division of Corporation Finance of the United States Securities and Exchange Commission and as in-house counsel for the Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians.  She is a 1993 cum laude graduate of the Detroit College of Law.  Ms. Karana has a Bachelor of  Science in Finance from Central Michigan University and a Master of Laws in Securities Regulation from Georgetown University Law Center.   She is a member of the State Bar of Michigan (Business Law Section) and the American Bar Association (Business Law Section).
