Mr. Andress concentrates his practice in patent, trademark, and copyright law with an emphasis on preparing and prosecuting patents.  He is a member of the State Bar of Michigan and is registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office.  He has prepared and prosecuted patent applications in numerous mechanical technologies including: vehicle steering systems, axle components, fastener assemblies, vehicle climate control devices, vehicle suspension systems, archery products and gaming systems.

Mr. Andress received a B.S. in Civil Engineering from Michigan State University in 1996 and a J.D., with honors, from Michigan State University College of Law in 2007. During law school, he was an intern in Howard & Howard's Intellectual Property Intern Program.

Mr. Andress is a licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) in the state of Michigan .  From 1996 to 2003, he worked for Wade-Trim Inc. as a project engineer and as a project manager.  He has been involved in all phases of projects including engineering design, cost estimating, scheduling, project management and quality assurance/control.  His design experience includes road and infrastructure reconstruction, pavement evaluation, airport runway/taxiway and lighting design, storm water and drainage design, hydraulic analysis, municipal sanitary sewer design, water main design, and site development.
